Snowy Plover Ban Information

 

Please take the time to inform yourself of the possible enhanced restrictions threatening the northern coast of Oregon. The government link below details what is currently being pursued in terms of added restrictions. Continued knowledge will help to avoid extreme bans for the beaches of the northern coast of Oregon.

Please help, by being responsible, to keep our beaches open for a wide range of activities.

 

Further restrictions will ban:

• Dogs
• Kiteflying
• On dry sand ... no walking, horseback riding, and other activities. The wet sand remains open.
• Motor vehicles of any kind not permitted

 

 

There are many articles that can be found that indicate that predators (crows, gulls, hawks, eagles, wild cats, fox, and coyotes) have a much greator impact on the reduction of the Snowy Plover. A simple search can net links to this information.
